This medium to large lake is a great lake for little ones. Most of the shorelines are very slow drop off sand. Some shorelines you can walk out 500 feet on firm sand before it drops off. Don’t let that fool you, the lake is 200 feet deep making it one of the deeper lakes in the area.

1/2 Hour to 45 Minutes North of Bancroft.

Lake Character

Easily accessible year round roads. Area of lots of Crown land. Most of the lake has beautiful, gently sloping sandy shorelines. A great lake in general for children to play in the sand. The lake is a little north but worth the drive. Papineau has an Island called Davis Island, this Island has about 10 cottages on it. The boat launch is off Papineau Lake Road, keep going a little after the pavement stops, look for it on your right. According to records the lake has 257 properties on it.
